A multi-brand concept store split into three levels, also featuring a restaurant on the underground level.
The plot, long and narrow, set the program of the building, split into two parts along a longitudinal axis: on one side, a hollow area crosses all levels, ensuring good natural lightning throughout; on the other, the store per se, with large niches to display products, in addition to restrooms, stock rooms and administrative quarters.
The small dimensions of the plot and the short deadline to complete the building led to the choice of a mixed constructive system, combining metal and reinforced concrete pieces. At the top, large trellised metal beams stand on concrete volumes and support the lower levels, cable stayed.
From the street, after crossing a long hallway where the shop window is located, one comes to a stainless steel catwalk leading to the store’s first floor. A spiral staircase, completely covered in brushed steel, leads to the upper levels or to the underground, where a bar and a restaurant overlook a garden of light sand and palm trees, a reference to Rio de Janeiro, the city the store was founded.
