PB HOUSE

LOCATION BUILT AREA YEAR
Sao Paulo, Brazil
2.055 m²
2015

The house is in a strictly residential area bounded by Brigadeiro Faria Lima, Brasil and Rebouças avenues and Alameda Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, and occupies a corner plot originally formed by five properties. The project was set out to favor the view onto a linear garden formed from the placement of the building on a line running alongside the longer side of the plot. By doing so, it was possible to ensure views onto the garden shrubbery from all social rooms on the ground floor, whose spaces are defined at times by different levels, other times by walls whose surfaces are covered by different materials, always in black. Those walls, protruding to the exterior, are meant to direct the gaze from the inside to the outside, and the fluidity in setting the areas in the house is ensured by using aluminum frames – some stationary, others sliding, but all minimalistic. The u pper floor is organized within a white rectangular volume, with all bedrooms overlooking the garden.

Service areas are housed in the underground and include parking and machine room, in addition to the servants’ quarters and laundry room, the latter organized as to open onto an inner courtyard.
