TIJUCOPAVA HOUSE

Guarujá, Brazil

This is a getaway home located at the seaside, about 90 km from São Paulo.

From the street, one can see no more than white solid walls. But once past the wall that delimits the garage, one reaches a large lawn framed by tall palm trees, and further down the entrance door.

The entrance door opens to a small hall which leads to the sitting room – double-height ceilinged, with large pivoting doors opening both onto the lawn and the swimming pool deck.

At the uppermost deck, a vinyl tent breaks the rigid geometry – horizontal and vertical volumes intersecting.

Various textures are to be found in the house: fine and rough stucco, wood, stone, aluminum and Portuguese-stone mosaic.
