The presence of two large rubber trees defined the program distribution and building set-out. A large dome was envisioned on the upper floor so that the tops of the trees would always be within sight.

For the ground floor, the starting point was the creation of a main volume, entirely clad in wood, containing the large covered veranda. That veranda serves as a large multipurpose room whose main space opens onto the back garden, with a generous 15-meter open span.

Other concrete volumes then intersect with main volume.

The upper volume, formed by a succession of boxes in different materials, created a blank façade to the street, thus affording more privacy to the bedrooms.

The façade combines 3 main elements, arranged as follows:
The green material element was used on the upper floor, sometimes on blank panels, other times on trellis panels.
The wood slats extend from the porticoes on the façade. They appear again in the bedrooms, in the form of trellis panels, in three different orientations: vertical and horizontal fins flush to the wall façade.
The concrete has received three distinct treatments: polished, with exposed aggregates, and slatted.
Originally, the concrete volumes intersecting the covered veranda were gray. After a trip to Arizona, the client was enthralled with the beige palette of the desert, and a special color was then developed so that those volumes would be the color of sand.

The client is an active man and commissioned a full spa, with a semi-Olympic pool, gym room, etc. An annex was built to house that whole program.
